Built around the biological question

Biological research has split into three trades: experimental work, molecular data generation and computational analysis. A study can pass through several laboratories, a sequencing provider and an analysis team, each step technically sound, and still lose its biological context between them.

GenXMap was built to keep the three together, from study design and sample processing, through molecular characterisation, to analysis and interpretation, so that a programme produces coherent evidence rather than a set of datasets.

Our story

How the company was built

• 2020Founded in Marseille

  By Raheleh Shayan , an immunologist with twenty-five years in cellular and molecular biology, across academic research, industry and contract research.

• 2020–2022Wet lab and technologies

  The laboratory built up over two years: techniques and technologies brought in-house, and the first services structured.

• 2023Regional ecosystem

  Joined Marseille Innovation, AFSSI and the wider Provence life-sciences network.

• 2024Inside the IHU

  Laboratories integrated within the IHU Méditerranée Infection environment; public and private partnerships developed.

• 2025Internal R&D programme

  Own research programme launched, and dry-lab and analysis capacity built alongside the bench.

• 2026OMICS4, proteomics and the clusters

  OMICS4 launched as the production and booking platform; proteomics platform established and the specialist partner network set up; joining the Paris-Saclay Cancer Cluster and the Marseille Immunology Biocluster.

• TodayOne team, one lead

  Wet lab, bioinformatics and AI under one roof, and one scientific project lead per programme.

The laboratories operate within the IHU Méditerranée Infection environment, alongside the genomics and medical-genetics platforms of the Marseille site.

Funding and innovation support05

GenXMap’s development has been supported by Bpifrance (2024, 2026), Région Sud (2025, 2026), RisingSUD, Business France and the Orange Femme Entrepreneuse programme (2025), with banking and business-development support from CEPAC, CIC and IODA Consulting. GenXMap is also a France 2030 awardee, through the regionalised PIA4 scheme.
